As an employee at will, you can be fired at any time. And for no reason. Or any reason, except ones prohibited by law. (Like race, religion, national origin, gender, age, reasonable disability, and in some states and I think California, sexual orientation) Since, from the email, it doesn't seem like a prohibited reason, I am guessing you cannot get your job back, even if you sue. You could sue your manager, I can't imagine what for (taking too much vacation time?) but you could sue. I don't think you could win a suit, and she could counter sue. On the bright side, the banking industry doesn't seem like a hot market right now, it might be the time for a different career.
