Question:

Being costrophobic a problem for a fire fighter?

Im in college right nowand Ive always wanted to become a fire fighter, but i have one problem. Im not comfortable in small spaces. Im not full on costrophobic but i was wondering if that would be a major problem to go into the fire department.

Answer:

Why buy ones that aren't battery operated? If they use A.C. power they still need a battery backup in case the electricity is off. The A.C. types are a waste of money. Go for the battery operated ones.
just follow instructions they go incoming power into the first smoke detector then you need hot, neutral and red for inter connection in between so they all came on when any one starts hopefully this help you
Pump for just a little while, long enough to draw out the nipple, and then latch him on. Try to get him off of the nipple shield though. This is usually easiest midway through a feed when he is a bit sleepy, so hopefully he won't notice.
I would call your local fire department. They may have some answers or be able to point you in the right direction.
no just run 3 wire to connect all the smoke detectors together and from the source you only need a 2 wire just make sure wire gage is the same from when ever you are tapping power from ( 12 gage on a 20 amp breaker or 14 gage on a 15amp breaker ), the red is known as a trigger / sync wire and is used to trigger all the smokes if any one smoke triggers, this by code and design
