How often should a Bio-Wheel type filter be changed?
The wheel itself should never be changed, just rinsed on occation. The Filter is what holds your carbon, so about every two months or whatever it recommends on the box.

The wheel never needs to be changed, the filter media can be used until the blue mesh starts to fray. Usually about three months. It says to change it every month but I have found that is not really necessary.
