Question:

Can I put my non-stick frying pan in the oven?

I'm cooking and I want to put the stuff in the oven for awhileDo I need to put it in a new pan or can I put the frying pan in the oven? It doesn't have a rubber handle or anything.

Answer:

You really don't want to put Teflon in the ovenWhen it gets hot (even just on stovetop temps) it releases off a toxic gasAvoid non stick unless it's a brand like Calphalon where the non stick portion is a diamond plating that is baked into the panThat is perfectly safeI put things in the oven all the time from the stove but I only use stainlessIf you do have anything with a rubberized handle just wrap it in aluminum foil first.
