Question:

Can someone help me please with my charger.?

Hi, my laptop charger stopped working a few months ago. I have been using my friends ever since and now they have gone away i have nothing else to charge my laptop with. When i plug in the charger, the battery icon say 'plugged in, not charging' Is there any way to make it charge please. thank you to all who answer

Answer:

You can get a replacement from your notebook supplier or if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, try the universal adapter/charger but you better consult someone who knows how to read the specification of the power supply.
Without more specific information about your computer, I'm afraid I can't be of much help. Nevertheless, you could of course contact your laptop's manufacturer to have them send you a new charger.
Some Dell laptop chargers have an ID chip in them If the signal is lost from the chip dying or the wire breaking, the laptop will not let you charge the battery. It will still power the laptop. Borrow a Dell charger of the SAME VOLTAGE and wattage and see if it begins charging. If it does, you will need a Dell charger to replace the old one. Or just Email Dell or call and ask if your laptop needs a Dell charger.
