You bet you can cook it in a crock pot! Just rub it with whatever seasonings you use with a roasting pan, add half a cup or so of water and let it goI generally coat my chicken with dry chopped onions and a heavy pinch of salt, but you do whatever flavors you likeNo need to tie back the wings; the crock pot is moist heat so you don't have to worry about the wings burning.
Umm, don't slow cook chickenMany of the smaller bones will begin to break down in a most unpleasant wayThe rib bones especially will start to disintegrate! My favorite way to roast chicken is to remove the backbone (so the chicken is butterflied)Now season the chicken as you likeHeat the oven to 450 F with a cast iron skillet in the ovenWhen the oven is hot remove the skillet and place over med-high heatAdd a tablespoon of oil (prefpeanut)when it just starts to smoke lay the chicken skin side down for about 3 minutes or until sufficiently brownedTurn chicken over (skin side up) and place in oven for about 20-25 minutes or until thermometer says 170 F in the thickest partIt's always tender and juicy for me this wayAnd yes, I have tried to slow cook a chicken-it was disgusting! I threw it away.
Including fiber in your diet is a terrific way to lose weight because it slows the digestion process- helping you feel fuller, longerYou can get fiber from whole grain breads/pastas, veggies, and fruitsGetting it from these sources is more effective for weight loss than fiber supplements! However, supplements can help you get the 20-35 grams your body needs each dayI personally prefer Benefiber, a powder I buy from the grocery store that can be added to anything- water, yogurt, milk, etc- without changing the texture or tasteTry to get most of your fiber from natural sources, though.
