Question:

Can you drive a car with a broken axle?

My boyfriends car kept dying out due to the rain and his engine getting wet. It‘s been 2 weeks since his car was towed. Ford finally called and said they looked at the car and the car has 3 broken sensors and a broken axle. Now my question is I thought your car won‘t drive when your axle is broken. He drives a 2005 saturn ion red line edition. I‘m thinking the tow truck driver broke it somehow because my boyfriend was able to drive his car to where the tow truck driver wanted him to move it to get up on the truck. And now ford is saying his axle is now broken. HELP PLEASE(:

If the axle was completely broke all the power would go to that side because it has the least resistance. That's why when one tire is on ice, that tire spins and the other does nothing. Unless the car is all wheel drive in which case the car would be propelled by the other set of axles.
Your absolutely right, all (MOST) of your braking power comes from the the front, but you use the back to stay in control
