I want to set up a media server in the home office and stream that to other areas of the house using Media Center Extenders. If I plug my Cable box through my TV Tuner and stream the TV to the extender, can I change the TV channel using the extender remote control without line of site of the cable box?
No you can't. You can use the extender to control TV using a TV tuner on the PC. However, you can buy PCs with Cable Tuners and CableCard slots so you can get rid of the cable setop box. Otherwise you need an RF to IR remote to control your set-top box.
