Question:

Ceramic Braces or Metal Braces?

I‘m stuck between choosing which one is better for me. I consume stuff like Juice, meat, soup, chocolate and other stuff like that. I heard that Ceramic stains a lot.I‘m not exactly the BEST brushed in the world but I‘m willing to change (You know, like mouthwash and good toothpaste) for the sake of my appearance. I dont want to be called Metal Mouth or Traintracks. My orthodontist also said the ceramic isn‘t held onto the teeth as well as the metal.

Answer:

In addition to what CDA! said, metal is stronger, has faster results, better in very crooked teeth and also cheeper. go for metal
hahaha train tracks Never heard that one before Go with metal You can change the colors and they'll look cool
Metal is better. Ceramic tends to look really yellow (no matter how good your home care is) and I would think you would want people to KNOW you have braces on rather than THINK you just have nasty yellow teeth.lolright? Besides, ceramics de-bond more often and can fracture, metal cannot fracture. Get an electric toothbrush, a water pik and start adding ACT mouth rinse to your routine (has fluoride) just make sure and get the green bottle as it does not have alcohol. I think getting the braces will motivate you to brush better. If things are left to sit on your teeth and your home care is not good, you will end up with a lot of decalcified areas (white spots) around where the brackets were when your braces come off, so be careful to keep them perfectly clean.
