Could someone answer my question on ball python breeding?
Depending on the projects that you get into it can be very expensive. It can be difficult and time consuming as well. You have to make sure that your incubator runs well before the snake lays eggs that way you know how to regulate it. You have to constantly move males around that you are attempting to breed, like in and out to shed eat and rest. As for items you need a very well working racking system and perhaps even a rat rack. For a substrate everyone uses different things I use black news print paper for easy cleaning. If you use a rack system you dont need hides for your adults but for babies and juvies I recommend them. You will need to build your own incubator or buy one online and make sure you have vermiculite it works wonders. Occasionally you get stubborn males that dont breed right off the bat either so be prepared for that. Make sure you know all the signs on your female bps so you know around when they will lay so you have everything ready. If you research now and breed in a year or two many things will be alot easier to understand. If you have any clue on the morphs you want to work on email me and I can give you all the probabilites from the clutches and the price ranges but for beginning its best to work with the cheaper morphs like pastelxspider for bumblebees then say if you have a female pastel and male spider and you produce bees you can hold back a male bee and breed him to the mother the year after for some killers. :) the bp breeding life is always full of excitement :)
If you go on Strictly Reptiles, you'll see some really cool morphs to give you ideas. I like the spider pied balls. Make sure they're sexed so you make sure you get a pair. they're easy to breed they'll decide when they're going breed lay eggs. You'll be doing the incubating. Youtube shows a guy opening his eggs seeing what variety he got out of the clutch. Hope I was some help.
