You know how schools will ot let you get on game sites, well I was wondering if anyone knew how to get pass the security wall.
I used to play paddle ball in high school and I absolutely hated wearing safety goggles. I thought there's no way that little ball is going to hit me in the eye and guess what? That little ball hit me perfectly in my left eye at full force when it was open. I couldn't use that eye for 2 days and I have some vision loss as well. What I'm saying is that you never know, but brackets are easy to replace if they come off and I'd be more concerned about getting my teeth knocked out with the ball and not my braces. So you should be fine not to wear one.
You can use wire nuts, butt connectors, or plain old electrical tape to cover the metal ends of the wires, and then just tuck them up out of the way and leave them there. The big thing to be aware of is that some areas have codes requiring the wired smoke detectors on buildings built after a certain year, so check with your local building authority before you remove the wired ones. If you are in such an area and are concerned about them not working during an electrical outage, just add a few of the battery powered ones in critical areas (like by bedrooms). If you are in one of these areas, you could get in a lot of trouble (fines) if you remove the wired ones, so make sure of the laws before you do so. I know this because I took classes and had a license for a while as a Home Inspector. I don't do it anymore because I went back into my previous career, but I still remember most of it.
