What do you think it means? Are there some examples and do you like any false metal bands?
A7X- Absolutely Not. BFMV- Metalcore. Closer.
Avenged Sevenfold can either be classed as Hard Rock or Metal. I think their earlier stuff is Metal, whilest their newer stuff is probably Hard Rock. Bullet For My Valentine are metalcore, in my opinion. I know a lot of people will disagree, but seriously, just listen to No Control and there's no way you could call that Hard Rock, it's definitely Metal.
Old Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine are both watered down Metalcore...which means they do not have enough Metal influence to be considered Metal. New A7X is just Hard Rock.
those bands can certainly be considered as more modern metal. i think too many people here are older and stuck in their times from back in the day when they were teenagers. i think most older people would say that they arent metal, unless they can open their minds and realize that everything changes in time. but yes, those bands without a doubt can be considered modern metal.
