It's not YOUR fault your boss is a butt! lol but when it comes to someone getting fired in the workplace it is between the company and that employee only. You MIGHT try liquid Gesso, available at any art store. I think it's transparent. It's a milky colored liquid, but it dries to a transparent solid. Try it first, ie: experiment first. Then you will see if it works.
