Best band from each metal subgenre?

Heavy metalThrash metalNu metalGoth metalBlack metalGroove metalDeath metalAlternative metalProgressive metalRap metalSludge metalPower metalMetalcoreIndustrial metal Even if you don't like a subgenre, then list a band you respect/heard of/or know of

Answer:

Personally, I find a lot to love in either. Favorite glam band: W.A.S.P. Favorite thrash band: Definitely Metallica.
I go Glam Metal over Thrash any day BQ (I have a bunch) - Poison, Motley Crew, White Lion, Twisted Sister, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Cinderella, Spinal Tap... BQ2 - Metallica is as far as I get
I like Glam Metal better, but only because I listen to more Glam than Thrash. I do love Thrash Metal though. BQ: Poison, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi... BQ2: Megadeth Punk Rock's the best though
No! Hell no! I like how thrash is more extreme and complex. I can't stand the way glam metal bands dress either, they look like *******. BQ: I guess Twisted Sister, although they're not entirely glam metal. I tend to stay away from the genre BQ2: Megadeth! And plenty of thrash metal singers can sing. How would Stormtroopers of Death sound if they had some glam metal singer wailing on the mic? Thrash metal vocals fit the music as it should.
Glam Metal will always be better than Thrash Metal. Thrash Metal is probably the worst genre of music, due to the fact that it is so generic. Of course, Glam Metal is not necessarily a genre where you will find a great deal of talent, but any amount of talent found within the genre outweighs the combination of any/all skill that Thrash Metal has to offer. Glam Metal has several bands that have stood the test of time, whereas Thrash Metal has only a few bands that have survived. Thrash is so common, and is all the same. In terms of music theory, Thrash Metal constantly is in a 4/4 time signature, most likely just strumming the low E for 3 minutes, possibly throwing in some open 5ths (power chords) every once in a while. Don't even get me started on vocals for Thrash... Dear God, at least Glam Metal has some decent singers. In sum, Glam Metal > Thrash Metal. BQ: Probably Quiet Riot BQ2: Forbidden, Testament, or Evile.
