BESS is there for a reason, you shouldn't need to check your MySpace at school. I do not know a way around this, but some teachers' computers do not have the BESS filter, so if you could sneak onto one of their computers it MIGHT work. I do not encourage you to try that though.

I don't think the winters are any worse in western Penn then eastern Nebraska. With good snow tires and being a better then average driver me and my Miata's got a long pretty good there. I now live a little south of you and last winter mine did pretty good on iced roads. By the way there is a reason the wheel openings are so large on a Miata, it is so that with tire chains on the fenders will not get beat up. No, I have never used chains on mine, but if I ever need them it is nice to know. But a Miata is not a car to take on snow drifts with, but for most winter driving mine do alright. The BMW, I don't know about. Not worth the extra money IMHO.
