How do i keep my car under control in snow and ice.?

So im 16 just got my license a month ago and today i woke up to a white out. I was driving down a pretty steep hill in town going about 20-25 mph and i tapped my brakes and started to slide towards a car. i tapped them again and slid to a lucky stop with no damage or anyone hurt. But i am scared to drive tomorrow. When going downhill, how do you stop? because at the bottom of this probably 80 yd hill that isnt really steep but kind of, there is a stop light, and I dont know how to stop at it in the snow going down hill, what is a proper speed for downhill in snowy conditions?

hiya, im a dental nurse and there is no law to say that they have to wear a mask, it is their choice, they are advised to because when drilling alot of spray comes off and is not healthy to inhale it (plus it can contain blood), I wear a mask as i feel uncomfortable being so close to someone and breathing in their face or inhaling their spray and breath!
We can use kinematic eqns for this problem. First break the inital velocity into its x y components.. So vx0 v0*cos(theta0) 6.7*cos(theta0) So vy0 v0*sin(theta0) 6.7*sin(theta0) Now we know that the range x 2.0m sox vx0*t t xvx0 2.0/(6.7*cos(theta0)) Now looking at the y component we use y y0 +vy0*t - 1/2*g*t^2..where y y0 0 So the eqn reduces to t*(1/2*g*t - vy0) 0.. t 2*vy0/g Now equate both times and get 2.0/(6.7cos(theta0)) 2*6.7*sin(theta0)/g Now rearranging 2*sin(theta0)*cos(theta0) 2*g6.7^2 ..but 2*sin*cos sin(2*theta0) So sin(2*theta0) 2*9.8/6.7^2 0.4366so theta0 1/2*arcsin(0.4366) 12.9o
