i am continuously finding mold on the surface of my vermiculite egg laying substrate. will this prevent eggs from hatching? how do i prevent mold yet keep it moist at the same time?

first of all, use a potato for feeding and that won't make it too moist for the growth of mold. It is dry enough and still gives them nourishment
