Question:

How do I use Benzoin resin in the context of aromatherapy?

I knew that absolutes/concretes are notoriously difficult to work with, but I didn't expect Benzoin to be only liquid when heated and even then not to mix readily with jojoba oil. It came in a tin instead of a glass bottle like an essential oil. How do I use it or get it to a workable liquid (or at least gooey) state?

Answer:

Businesses like McDonald's keep very lean on-site staffs these days, so when even one person fails to show up, it can be problematic for the manager and remaining staff. They evidently feel that you did not do enough to notify them you'd be out sick. You have to let someone know, which means that you keep calling until you get through. Now, they can take you off the schedule due to the incident. That's their right as employer. They don't have to officially fire you, either. The law allows them to string you along indefinitely, or as long as you put up with it. You should being looking for other work now. You could file for unemployment, but McDonald's would argue against it on the basis that you were fired for failure to report to work.
Smoke detectors that are wired together often have one master. The others are often referred to as slaves. One of the other alarms needs the battery changed. It isn't a good idea to disable them as they are there for your safety.
