Question:

How do you stop sleeping through an alarm?

Hi. I usually sleep through my alarm because I am waking at odd times. it is not unnatural for me to wake myself up and get only an hour sleep. My mum sleeps in the next room and she wakes up from my alarm and I don't. Please don't tell me to get more sleep because I will ignore you. What i need although is tactics to help me wake up from my alarm. I have tried drinking lots of water so when the alarm rings I am more edgy and need to get up to go toilet. It works sometimes.Thanks for any advice.

Answer:

To be honest, I usually wear blue jeans. For the rest of my gear. I almost always wear my armored leather motorcycle jacket. It has zipper vents on the front and back so I can tolerate wearing it in warmer weather. However, when it gets too hot I won't wear the jacket. Usually above 90 F. I live in a northern area so it doesn't exceed 90 F very often. I always wear a full face helmet. I would not take my bike out of the driveway without it. To me, riding without a helmet is out of the question. A personal choice. I also have some motorcycle glasses I always wear. Goggles that look like sunglasses. They have a foam gasket to seal out wind. They have photo sensitive lenses so they are dark in the sunlight and almost clear at night. My bike does not have any sort of fairing or wind screen. With these glasses I can safely open the face shield on hot days when needed to get more air. I always wear my leather motorcycle gloves. The logic. I feel if I were to go down on my bike instinct may have me try to catch myself with my hands. Without leather gloves the skin would be removed from the palms of my hands in the first few feet. Ouch. I feel if the worst happened, I could be pretty messed up and still be able to do things with my hands. But if all the skin was gone from the palms of my hands and finger tips, this may be difficult. Riding for a lot longer than I would like to admit. Ride Safe - Have Fun
No it wont, my parents are smokers and we have smoke detectors in every room and i'v never heard one go off.
Usually jeans. If it's cold or wet, I have a pair of zip-in leather over pants that go over my jeans.
I have been riding for years and I used to wear Denim pants. My wife also wears the same when she wants to join in our ride. We both wear denim because i find the brand not too expensive. Last week, I ordered another denim pants from Jafrum. I can't wait to see it. By the way, visit them if you have time. They have complete set of clothes for riders.
Jeans. Please don't wear shorts as one answerer suggested. Many years ago, I was out somewhere I wasn't supposed to be and needed a ride home quickly. One of my friends said he'd ride me and when I got off, forgetting I had shorts on, my calf just lightly touched the tailpipe. It hurt for a second and i had a red mark, but thought nothing of it. Three days later it erupted from the inside, al green and gross and disgusting. I had to go to the doc and have it scraped out with a razor blade and i'll tell ya, i almost passed out from the pain. I was on crutches the first 4 days because i couldn't walk on that leg. SO PLEASE DON'T WEAR SHORTS. Now, whether I'm riding with hubby or on my own bike, I wear jeans in the summer. In winter, depending on the temperature, I wear either long johns under the jeans, or that and chaps to keep my legs warm. I myself can't stand full face helmets, too heavy and I can't turn around and look behind me, and it's hard to hear what's going on around me {especially if one has one of those ridiculous head set thingys}
