Question:

How exactly does a 5 in 1 memory card reader work on a laptop?

I just bought a Compaq Presario and it has a 5 in 1 memory card reader.First time I put a SD card into it and worked fine. But I put a memory stick into it and it got stuck! Are there certain places you have to put each memory card? This is what it says over the card reader:SD*MS/Pro*MMC*XDThanks!

Answer:

As andyken said, if the laptop comes with a card reader, it's not a USB plug-in, it's part of the laptop. (It may connect to the USB bus internally, but it's a slot that you plug the memory cards into directly.)
Memory sticks are designed to get stuck. To release them, push them farther in (about 1/10-inch). Then they will pull out all the way.
