I have a good condition 01 camry and i want to put in a v8 engine. I also heard you have to get a new suspension system to support the new weight of the car and engine. how much would all this cost.
most likely, just roll your pants up, that works and just cut ur sleeves
It depends. Get a t-shirt and look at the fabric. See how it is made of tons of tiny, tiny little V shaped stitches? This is called knitted or jersey. Now look at a pair of jeans or a nice dress shirt. Notice how this is made of threads that travel at right angles to one another. This is woven. Lastly, look at your pajamas. If the fabric is knitted, then cutting it will not cause strings, but the edges will curl a bit. If the fabric is woven, then cutting it will cause strings and you shouldn't do it unless you can hem it afterward.
The costs would be enormous and it probably wouldn't even fit under the hood. If Toyota had offered a V8 in that model, it would be relatively easy to find a used motor in a salvage yard and swap it. But they did not. I can tell from your question that you have little or no mechanical experience and tackling such an advanced project would only result in frustration. If your Camry only has a 4 cylinder, swapping to the V6 that was available wouldn't be so bad. But it is still a project for an experienced mechanic or advanced do-it-yourself-er. Sorry.
Engine swaps in rear wheel drive cars used to be a relatively simple thing. Doing this in a front wheel drive car is a nightmare I would not recommend, and packing a bigger engine and transmission under there and a whole new dimension to the nightmare. You will need to upgrade the suspension to support the weight, get new CV axles, rewire everything for a new fuel management system, install a larger radiator, etc, etc, etc. It is not worth the headache.
