Question:

How to temporarily cover a red curtain wall?

I am planning my wedding reception in an old stage/theater type venue. The only problem is that my colors are pink and gold, and the stage area (which is prominent) has the typical stage curtains and theyre red. Everything else in the venue is neutral except those curtains.I know i could probably work them in, change my colors, or just ignore them, but Id rather not. I had thought about draping fabric over them, but anything except organza gets pricey (Im on a tight budget) and organza is see through. Any ideas?

Answer:

no one will be paying much attention to the curtain, you are just stressing out and you may have to accept that there are some things u cant change I know you dont want to change your colours but using different shades of pink flowers and red flowers my help to blend the red into ur pink scheme
Go to some cut rate linen outlets. They may have end of the roll sales or dead stock (stock that did not sell well) in colours you can incorporate with your décor preference.
Can the stage curtains be pulled back so you can't see much of them? If so, it might be relatively cheap to buy some broadcloth to cover them with. It isn't fancy, but it is cheap and comes in every colour there is. One panel of something fancier hung in front of the broadcloth might dress it up a little.
Normally, the stage curtains in a theater can be pulled up and out of sight in the rafters above the stage area. If this is possible, this might only leave the anchored side curtains needing to be overdraped with other fabric. Also, does the theater have any set (scene) backdrops which could be lowered into place to give a more compatible colored background for your venue? If either or both of these options are available, might assist you in planning the decorations required for the space. Additionally, there might be a way for the lighting staff of the theater to assist by using colored spotlights to impact the color of the curtains.
