Stephanie, On 2011 Corollas the procedure is very simple. The wind shield wiper stalk is located directly right of the steer wheel itself. Operating the wind shield wipers is simply a matter of pressing up or down on the stalk itself in order to control the wiper speed. There are also other functions, such as activating the wind shield washer fluid, that can be accessed through the manipulation of this right-hand stalk. I believe that pulling the stalk towards you engages the wind shield wiper fluid function. The owner's manual inside your sister's Corolla's glove box will list all of the various wind shield wiper functions and how to access them. Cheers!
