Question:

How would you know if your windshield wiper is out of alignment?

My driver side windshield wiper seems to be getting caught when I run it. It runs fine for a second or 2, but then it like stumbles and gets caught. I tried, like an idiot, to run my wipers last week when it was snowing and that‘t when I noticed the problem. The arm itself moves fine, back and forth, with no issue, but when the wiper is on it, that‘s when it stumbles. I just broke the blade on my driver wiper running it a few minutes ago. It got caught, or stumbled on the passenger one, and now the blade‘s broken, so I have to buy a new one. I thought maybe I needed to tighen it, so I did, and it ran fine for a few minutes, but then started stumbling again. Any suggestions?I would take it to be looked at, but the car places here charge an arm and a leg just to LOOK at the car. I‘m wonder if I didn‘t tighten it enough, or if the blade needs to be aligned.

Answer:

this is funny, great question, they don't go out of alignment they only work one way, up and down. there not working properly, because there worn, or there not the right ones for your car. worst case your wiper motor is going out and there not going all the way up and down.
