Question:

I have a small wooden shed that i want to use as a hangout in winter any insulation tips?

I have a shed that is built of wood seems well built and it isn't falling apartI want to use it as an extra room for me in the winter when i want to get away from my family for a bitIt is hooked up to the house with an outlet so i have a light and can plug other things insideMy issues are the two doors don't close from the inside and the lock is broke tooHow could i rig it up to close from the inside? I don't know much about fixing up things so that's why i'm askingAlso as i said it's wood with it's own wood floor once i figured a way to close it from the inside with an electric heater inside would that be enough to hang out in and be warm in the winter? should i add anything else to increase insulation? I live in northern Michigan and i plan to use it when i need to be aloneI am hoping being able to close from inside and a heater should be sufficient to make it cozyThanks to all that answer in advance.

Answer:

If your pan's sides are high, that could create more moisture in the baking environment than you get with a flat cookie sheetAlso, you won't have enough room to space the cookies, so they may run togetherOtherwise it should be all rightOr, for use with a pan like a pie pan or cake tin, you could chose a bar cookie recipe instead of the drop type.
i say yes but a cookie sheet is better i made homemade cookies in a pan that u cook meat in and my son says they would have been better on a cookie sheetbut i am all for what u have is ok
Turn your aluminum thin pan upside-downInstant cookie sheet! Most cookie recipes call for a non-greased pan because of the high fat content of the doughYou want to bake, not fry, your cookies.
yea, just cleean the pan really good, then rub butter on the bottomit works great instead of oil because butter leaves a taste thats already in the cookiesOil will bring out the metal flavor in the pan, and thats gross
As for the doors, put a lock set on the doors, so you have a door knob on BOTH sides, and a keyed lock for securityYou can put a door closer for a storm door on them so they self close! The pink styrofoam sheets are not bad, but it gets cold where you live!! I live in Ontario, so I get some of the winter weather you do!! I suggest putting in bats of Safe and Sound Roxul insulationIt is fire resistant, and can give you a great R value for insulationJust install strapping across the studs to hold it in, if you aren't going to finish the walls this yearYou can also put a vapor barrier of 6 mil plastic on the walls after you insulateThis will hold the insulation in as well! Next, you need a heat sourceIf you have natural gas, you can get a gas stove, and your gas company will hook it up for youMake sure you place slate or cement boards under the stove, and on the walls directly behind and around the unit When you're not in there, set the stove in 'Warm modeWhen you're in there, Set it to 'HEAT' mode, and keep it set at about 50 degFThis will keep any paint, or liquids from freezing, and help keep the moisture content down, so your furniture ot lumber does not absorb too much moisture Seal any windows with caulking, and around the door framesas well! there you are.nice and cozy in your own personal castle of tranquility and peace.at least until the wife needs you for something, then.well.you know!!
