Question:

I just replaced the axle on my 98 grand caravan and the transmission fluid is leaking banged it in a lil ?

And it slowed down but is still leaking wat can I do???

Answer:

you need to pull the axle back out and change the seal in the transmission. before you replace the seal put transmission fluid on the rubber lip on the seal so the axle won,t mess up the seal. where the seal presses in the transmission don,t put any burs on it or the seal will leak.
Sounds like you will need to replace the axle seal . They are not that hard to replace . Just be careful to not damage the new seal on replacement . Pull your axle back out then use a seal puller to remove the old seal clean and inspect the surfaces then inslall the new seal with a seal installer or be very careful with a hammer and a block of wood or something like that . Then reinstall axle and refill tranny then check for leaks .
the only thing that you can do is to pull the axle back out and replace the seal at the tranny where the axle slides in. I always replaced them when I do axles and the guy at the parts store should have told you this because it is critical that they are replaced once disturbed.
