Question:

i think working of disc brakes is entirely different from ABS.am i right?

disc brake system has any electronic stuff like ABS???

Answer:

Doug's statement is essentially correct. I would point out that the tone ring for an ABS system is often built into the hub assembly, as varnerjeremy stated. But that has nothing to do with the disc brakes themselves. On the other hand, sometimes it's part of the rotor, in which case you would need the correct rotor, because the ABS wouldn't work with a rotor (that's otherwise the same) meant for a non-ABS vehicle. And yes, you can have disc brakes without ABS, if that's what you meant. They were quite common for about 15 years before ABS became common.

ABS or Anti Lock Brake System are integated into most hub assemblies on disc brakes to prevent warping and skidding of vehicles. They go hand in hand.
ABS is just a control system. You can have drum or disc brakes with or without ABS. ABS uses a computer that detects a wheel that stop rolling and activates a pump to actuate the brakes thousands of times a second.
It is more like plastic, very durable and light weight. I like it especially if there are children in the household. I used it exclusively in the 1960s when my kids were little. I hope you like yours!
