Question:

Is a fire protection/EMS a career field that requires a good amount of education?

I really want to become a firefighter but my family and peers tell me that it doesn't require enough education. I don't understand why they think that.

Answer:

I .my where you will find all type of shopping stuff under one roof.
Simple answer no. Slightly longer one: To use batts of insulation you have to rip out the dry wall lay it in and re-do the drywall. Less invasive: cut a hole at each void in the wall and spray in the insulation. Least invasive: If you have attic access, and you can access where the voids are in the wall from above - you may be able to spray insulation in that way. For my money and the least aggravation, cut a hole at each void and spray it in.
If you have dry wall, I am surprised you would not have insulation. Have you handled any drafts and help insulate the windows. [depending what you have]. That would be the first move for insulating help. To apply a foam with reflective tape on one side would be real tacky. You would have a hard time avoiding openings and terminating ends. This could give you a couple points of R value. You could nail some animal hides to the exterior too. But honestly the little whole and blowing a foam in is a lot less invasive. You should give reason for your intent. [edit] . see if any tax breaks will help. But, seeing where most tax breaks are placed, I wouldn't be surprised to hear their is none for that. It doesn't hurt to look though.
