Go to a computer store (not a chain store that sells computers) and tell them you want a cross over network cable so that you can plug the two together without a router. Plug them together, turn on file sharing (why does Windows require a reboot when you turn on file sharing?), and then copy the files via that network. The crossover cable will cost about $20.
