Question:

Laars Mini-Therm 2 Boiler System not heating. Can anybody help me?

I have a Laars Mini-Therm 2 Boiler system that heats my house. We can't get the house temperature in the house above 55 degrees. Can anybody help me?

Answer:

There are several reasons that it might not be working.Let's start at the beginning. When the thermostat calls for heat, the vent damper opens. Is it open? The next thing to happen would be burner ignition. Do you have a standing pilot or spark ignition. Can you see the pilot? Is the boiler itself cold or warm? If you have a pilot that is burning, If the damper is fully open, and you have a pilot, I would check the gas valve next. Before ALL of this, try the obvious. Can't tell you haow many calls I have been on where the burner switch was mistakenly shut off, or the batteries in the thermostat were dead.
