legal distance your allowed to park to a fire hydrant in california?
Mel gave you some good advice - I will just add, having just come from the AHA national convention - hunt caps are not appropriate for junior riders in the Equitation or over fences division. Approved helmets with chin straps are now required for all hunter classes, it might take a while for everyone to get on board with the new rules, but save yourself some trouble, if you are a junior rider invest in a show helmet (black velvet type) with an approved harness. Go to the AHA website and request the AHA handbook be mailed to you, and get the USEF rule book as well. Everything you need to know is in those two books, or you can read on-line. I find it easier to have the books and then mark the pages that pertain to me. Also, if you are going to be riding equitation, conservative attire is always appropriate. Black or navy jackets, plain or light pin stripes. Try to stay away from trendy colors, and NO bling in Hunters. (another new rule from convention) tan or grey jods, and dress boots are more verstatile as Mel said. If you have local tack shops that do consignments you can find used show clothes that are often still in great shape. Especially the western clothes can be very expensive. Hunters are probably the cheapest to show as far as equipment and attire as you can school and show in the same saddle and tack, just be sure it is clean, clean, clean. You can also try craigslist, or local equine publications for used clothes. you can also post an ad yourself.
