It depends on the preparation and on the kind of exam, on another topic a friend was telling exactly the contrary (toefl being easier than ielts) i think that ielts is better than toefl for many reasons: it's widely accepted, it has an oral exam, it gives free online preparation which is called road to ielts, it's managed by great institutions. Generally, the biggest challenge in ilets test is the time, also in listening task, they test your ability to understand the British accent, Australian,New Zealand and American sometimes Canadian. so, you have to be familiar with all these types of accents. in addition you have to learn to read quickly and make skimming and scanning. in reading test you will have 3 passages with a different topics, so try to read anything in English. in this test, there is listening, reading, writing and speaking. speaking test will be with examiner not with the computer.
