Question:

Motor-powered Ferris Wheel help!!?

Ok so im making a science project and ferris wheels and im making a motor powered ferris wheel.Im going to connect a fishing line to one side of the ferris wheel and the other will be attached to a motor. The motor will wind up all the string and it will stop. How do i make it go the other way?Or if you know any other way to make it.Please and Thanks

Answer:

Is the whining noise coming from the transmission? Or timing belt? it may also be the water pump. even as utilizing, change gears and verify if the noise persists. if so have the oil replaced beforehand you try replacing the transmission.
If it is a standard transmission, it is probably a bad clutch. If it's an automatic, then a rebuild is probably necessary.
Dont tie it directly to motor or ferris wheel. The ferris wheel should be tied right in the middle for starters with the motor directly below it. Make an O out of the fishing line and hook it around the motor and ferris wheel. If it slips you could wrap the motor part and ferris wheel part that come in contact with the string with a rubber band for traction. Make sure the string is tight around the ferris wheel connection and motor connection. The string should act like a belt the just continually spins the wheel by the motor. Hope this helps!
