That'snormal. Most do not know how to drink out of a dish so they drink the water on leaves.
No this normal, most geckos dont know how to drink from a bowl, they drink off of themselves and the leaves and stuff in their cage. You can teach them by spraying the water dish in their cage, they see the water run down the dish and will follow it to find there is a place to drink. Most lizards are like this.
