This varies depending on the elevator. Some of them will stop when its pressed other its just an alarm. On a standard design, the alarm is just a local audible alarm but this can be linked to remote systems depending on the requirements of the customer. Unfortunately there is nothing saying that the alarm has to be anywhere that someone is there to hear it so beware using elevators in remote places late at night. Plexiglass High-heat-resistant sealant/adhesive putty. Aquarium silicone sealant. Heat resistant and sticks to most things. High-reflectivity mirrors. I assume you mean higher reflectivity than a normal mirror. You could possibly make your own, check out telescope-making websites to find out how to put a silver layer on a sheet of glass. Alternatively a sheet of silvered mylar may give you good reflectivity. Eclipse viewing filters reflect nearly all the light that hits them and you can buy sheets of that stuff for fitting to telescopes. Hope this gives you some ideas.
