Question:

New Road Bike- Suggestions?

With the price of gas, I've had it with my car. I want to get a really great, high end bicycle. I don't want a junker, so I would like some suggestions of really good road bikes to get. I am prepared to spend as much as $300 on my new bike.

Answer:

Have a bowl of cold water near to the gas stove. Light a gas ring on the stove. Hold a can with the open-end down, over the heat (with a pair of salad tongs), for about 20 seconds to fill the can with hot air and combustion gases and thoroughly heat the can. Holding the can in the same position, quickly dunk the open end into the cold water. The can will completely collapse as the cold water causes the can and inside gases to contract and cause a vacuum in it. The external atmospheric pressure will do the crushing. (Try it also with a plastic pop or water bottle. Carefully pour about 1 or so of boiling water into the bottle and quickly cap it tightly. Leave it to stand on the kitchen counter-top for a short timewatch the effect).
You may put your own embroidered or silkscreen designs on any clothes you purchase. Once you have paid for them they are yours to do with as you wish, with no further compensation to the manufacturer.
Do some research on cyclocross bikes. I've ridden mine in several inches of snow using 700x35 knobby tires. The brakes and tire clearance are designed to handle mud and snow.
