Question:

Saturn ion windshield wiper problem?

My driverside windshield wiper has totally disconnected at the base. Like right where it moves by the windshield. It still moves but it actually goes past my windshield causing it to stop moving. It is connected to a black thing at the base and this black thing seems to be very loose. Any ideas?

the only safe way is with an adapter and their safety is questionable. You will end up spending more on the adapters than on a set of proper wheels so the decision is yours.
No. You can't put a square peg in a round hole either.

At the base there might be a cap covering the nut that attaches the wiper arm to the pivot. Remove the cap, loosen the nut and take the arm off. Turn the wipers on until they complete one sweep, then shut them off. Attach the removed wiper arm to the pivot so it looks like the other arm(should be laying flat), spin down the nut, and see how they work. If the one that was tightened seems a little off(slaps the car or wipes past the windshield), just loosen the nut a bit and wiggle the arm to the right spot.
