It depends if the threads are metric or imperial on the fittings and pipes. If both are threaded the same, then the fittings will fit the pipe.
Cost is based on type of car as well as the amount of damage. If you really want an answer to such a silly question, you must provide the details. Most body shops will provide free estimates. Isn't it obvious whether or not it is drivable? Is the car still on the curb and wrapped around the stand pipe? If so you will be fined and sued if a nearby house catches fire and your car is still in the way.
If you are using compression fittings then you can obtain special thicker olives for the fittings. Check here: They seem have a pretty good idea about compression fittings.
