Question:

What's a matter with my furnace?

My furnace turned on today and my smoke detector went off, it smelt hot but there was not smoke. Approximately 2 months ago this same thing happened, we called a repair man and he said he thought it was dust burning off the element, he vacuumed it and it was fine. So we vacuumed everthing out again today and turned it back on, it worked fine for about 3 hours and then it did the same thing again, except this time it happened after it had just shut off. Please help!

Answer:

Of course not. But Brazil has its own laws that must be respected! Anybody violating them has earned the punishment laid out in their laws. THEIR land, THEIR laws. Period.
They weren't robbed. They were caught on video twice. Once at a gas station where they bashed in the bathroom door and then got in a fight with the people working there who confronted them. And again checking back into the Olympic Village a short while later showing them taking off their watches, and handing over wallets and cell phones to go through metal detectors. They lied because they didn't want to own up to a drunken brawl. And got caught.
I live in IL, so I'm not exactly aware of the laws and regulation in Northern Virginia, but I do know that EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) has the following federal laws: The Federal laws prohibiting job discrimination are: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin; the Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA), which protects men and women who perform substantially equal work in the same establishment from sex-based wage discrimination; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), which protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older; Title I and Title V of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), which prohibit employment discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities in the private sector, and in state and local governments; Sections 501 and 505 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities who work in the federal government; and the Civil Rights Act of 1991, which, among other things, provides monetary damages in cases of intentional employment discrimination. So, even though your wife's company may have fired her because she is pregnant, the company probably gave a bogus reason (other than her pregnancy) for firing her. I would get her to fill out the forms at the unemployment office and meet with a lawyer about this. You have the potential to win a lot of money off this suit if you win and if you are sure there are no other valid reasons why she could have been fired. Also check out the second link b/c it explains about FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) which will also be important to know about.
Brazil probably wants to charge them with lying and spreading false rumors. Brazil is concerned that the news of robberies will hurt their tourism industry.
so what exactly about being against your beliefs is a fireable offense? because if your still riding a school bus, then you are probably too young to realize that as you get older your going to meet a LOOOOT more people who have different beliefs than you. theres nothing wrong with it, its a fact of life. different people think different things. you cant get someone fired just for thinking differently. unless your life or health is directly in danger (which i sincerly doubt it is) you cant get him fired. you also need to grow up and realize that yeah, people are going to have different beliefs than you
