Can someone help me out with this problem? I would like to try to fix it myself. My SES light came on in my 2004 BMW 325i and this is what the auto parts store said the problem was. The code was P0411.
p0411 is a generic code, probably a vacume leak, vacume hose broken check this first, check the air pump turn on the car but it needs to be cold, you should hear a high pitched whine, this is the air pump running, there are 2 hoses one suction one blowing thishose should be going from the air pump to the air cleaner disconnect that and see what the volume is should be pretty strong. But mostly you probably have a broken vacume line somewhere
/ The P0411 generic code has to do with the Secondary Air Injection System, which includes an air pump, vacuum hoses and the combi (sometimes called Kombi or combination) valve. If you feel that you can change these yourself, then go for it.
It's not the air filter, it's the air pump locate on the passenger side(exhaust) of the engine bay. It can be as a simple fix as a broken vacuum line that control for diagram of the pump. That line is right at the exhaust as will be develop a crack in the line. I know I was doing the O2 sensor and bump it and it broken. Remove the plastic cover to get to the vacuum line. Pay $2 to get a generic vacuum and done. Save yourself $200 on the fix. Thanks to yahoo answers.
Anything you get will only somewhat mitigate the damage your body sustain when colliding with objects. When you crash a motorcycle you wil get hurt. Gear can offer some protection, but a high speed crash will overwhelm the best protection and you will die. Your primary defense is in your head, your attitude. You are invisible. People will fail to yield the right of way and will pull out in front of you. You are the one who will be hurt in a collision, so it is to your benefit to take responsibility to avoid collisions. You have a powerful, agile machine between your legs, use it to go around the danger. Defensive driving does not mean becoming a slow moving target, often the best defense is a good offense. Just don't use the speed to ride into danger. And don't worry, you are human, you will slip up; hopefully just a slide and a bump and not a horrid bone snapping impact. THAT is what the gear is for. What gear you get depends on what risks you take and how much you value your skin.
