should a tight end wear a cup and receiving gloves?
First, you will have to unscrew the plastic clip that surrounds the filter and holds the filter to the bottom of the frame rail. Pull it down some and this will give you room to work. Then take your open end wrenches and remove the engine side of the filter first. Hold one side of the fitting and turn the other side the opposite way to take it loose. Stuff a rag in the end of the filter. Now take off the tank side of the line and stuff another rag in the line to hold back most of the gasoline from leaking down your arm. Make sure you find the arrow on the side of the new filter and point it towards the engine. Now screw it all back together. You don't need any teflon tape on the threads. That would not help. Just don't crossthread the fittings. This is not too hard to change but you will get a small amount of gas on you. Now go wash it off of you.
Imo, just using one of those sticky lint rollers would be a cheaper option and less of a hassle. Run that over the furniture, tear off the used sheet(s) and toss out. Done.
Brush the dog daily. For the furniture use a damp sponge or put a rubber glove on, dip it in water and wipe down the furniture. Sticky lint rollers are a waste of money, the sponge works better.
