figure out how to replace that from the 60's unsafe fire hazard or get a repair man to fix it if you can find parts the electric heaters are much safer to use at sleeping times use caution that they are not near or obstructed by anything .. it is better to sleep with an extra blanket than take the chance of a home fire respectfully .
