If you do not read the cards or want to tell me that they are a crock or they do not work or are a hoax, I do not wanna hear from you. I know I need to clean my cards and I heard from another card reader that she uses regular table salt. I was wondering if this is a good way to do it and how would I go about it?
Not everyone cleans their cards, but for those who do, salt or smoke (as from incense) are usual, since if done properly it won't damage the card paper. I was once instructed to lay out the cards on a black cloth, sprinkle them with salt, then wrap the cloth around them and let them sit for 24 hours. Then shake off and discard the salt.
I don't generally feel the need to clean my cards but I do leave them with a quartz crystal on top of them. If I felt the need to then I would pass them through the smoke of some incense.
My favorite cards are the Thoth deck. They are very powerful and accurate. I got them from a store in Colorado called Isis Books. I believe they have a website. You can buy Tarot cards at any Barnes and Noble Booksellers or Borders Bookstore. For a beginner, I recommend the Rider-Waite deck or the Marseille deck. If you go someplace with several decks to choose from, pick the one you feel most drawn to. Good luck, and happy hunting!
Some use sage you can get it at a health food store or maybe new age store. Yes, salt should work as salt has been used for centuries as a purifier. CLean out evil spirits, so forth. I never clean my cards. I don't feel the need to.
Sea salt and sage I heard. But I use meditation and energy. You put your energy into the deck after every use. EDIT To the guy above me. The energy I use is from me. For me to focus on what I need to ask and what needs to be done. Not like magic. So until you really read between the lines and not Harry Potter, then you would understand. And some ppl believe in evil spirits. i never said it one. Yeah I know who you are referring to. But she was giving her own opinion. And ignorance? Says the one who speaks b4 he thinks. As so. You are entitled to yours as well. :)
