Question:

what do the numbers 8~32x 50 on my scope mean?

it is an excavator is it a good scope

Answer:

The first number, the 8, is the magnification of your scope: 8-power. The 32 should be diameter of the scope tube itself in millimeters. And the 50 should be the diameter of the outer lens, 50 millimeters. The larger the lense the more light-gathering ability your scope will have. H
It is a variable power scope that goes from 8 power to 32 power. The number 50 is the diameter of the front lens measured in millimeters. I am not familiar with the Excavator brand so I don't know if it as any good or not. You have a scope that is generally too powerful for hunting. Even on its lowest power, it will be hard to find your target in the scope. At 32 power, you would have an almost impossible time finding it. The scope is best suited for long range stationary target shooting..
8-32 means it's variable power....8 times magnification to 32 time......50 is 50 mm objective lens and is pretty dang big and should gather light pretty good...but I've never used any Barska products so I can't tell you how it matches up to other products...but at $150 I can't be that bad lol.
