It's okay to cross the road, just make sure you walk across, no faster.

um walking is just fine, however i am more concerned about the fact that you only have one stud per shoe. Think about what that is doing to your horses leg. When your horse walks it will twist his legs and pull on the outside. He will not be able to keep his hoof level and this will put extra strain on his legs. You should think about getting taps on both sides so as not to cause pain or extra stress do to uneveness.
If you are using the road studs for CC then they are fine for you to cross the road with - after all, they are ROAD studs, designed to stop the horse slipping on roads. If you are changing and using jumping studs then you do only want to walk over the hard surface and personally I would only trot over the road with the road studs.
