Question:

What is a structural ceramic?

What is a structural ceramic?

Answer:

CERAMICS are nonmetallic, inorganic engineering materials processed at a high temperature. The general term “structural ceramics” refers to a large family of ceramic materials used in an extensive range of applications. Included are both monolithic ceramics and ceramic-ceramic composites. Chemically, structural ceramics include oxides, nitrides, borides, and carbides. Many processing routes are possible for structural ceramics and are important because the microstructure, and therefore the properties, are developed during processing. This is from one of web site. As I know the term is used for ceramics like vitrified ceramics which has high mechanical wear resistance.
Instead of buying a whole new exhaust system, you either drill a hole in the existing muffler or buy a new muffler that delivers a louder sound.
there should be a few different options out there for you, and wilt the stilt is rightif you just want some more volume, then the muffler is good. however if you were to go with a nice exhaust with bigger than factory diameter you would free up some more power.especially since the car is turbo. you might want to get onto an audi forum and dig around a bit and meet some people that have experience with your make/model :)
Watch what you ask for when asking for really loud. It impresses nobody and you are still the one that that ricey drone follows around. You might not like that in traffic and when having a shiitty day. I love how my F150 SuperCrew sounds, but even I would get tired of hearing it rumble nonstop. Mind you, the truck sounds awesome when I gas it as would any 4.6L v8. I like it when it is quiet, though. A v6 will just be buzzy. Don't be a kraut.
