I am wondering because the shock is 10 dollars higher and i might buy it but i want to know why it is better than the original first.
I would say that Viper is the best alarm out there. They offer many options and upgrades such as glass break sensors, proximity detectors and even gps if your car does end up getting stolen. I have never had a problem with mine. i have a proximity detector set to high on mine and i love it. It will warning beep/flash lights once if someone is within a foot of my car and will go full alarm if someone barley touches it. As far as if they work, they will work about as good as any car alarm will work. If someone really wants to break in your car they will.
Are you sure it's not your carbon monoxide detector and not the smoke detector? Best way to ell is climb up where the detector was and take some deep breaths. Ok don't do that. But make sure it's a smoke detector if it's the CM detector, call teh damn fire company, Now.
