Question:

What is your favourite book or series, and how old are you?

I know this question is asked a thousand times over every day, but I'm curious to see how much of a correlation there is between age and book interestsI mean, I know that there isn't always one, but I'm just looking for the general idea.(Favourite books: The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien, The Book Thief and I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak, and the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin ColferI just turned 18.)

Answer:

I'm in my thirties and here are my favorites by genre: Mystery: James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux books Fantasy: Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay; Sword of Ice and Fire (series) by George RRMartin (there are many others I love, but I would reach for these in case of fire) Fiction: House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III and Notes from the Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (again, many more that I love but can't list them all) 18th century British: Jane Austen; The Monk by Matthew Lewis Early American: My Antonia by Willa Cather, Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser, and Maggie by Stephen CraneRomance: Dancing at the Harvest Moon by K.CMcKinnon and The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller Poetry: The Complete Works of Robert Frost and Five Decades: Pablo Neruda Best all around: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
research health foods, eat themExplicitly tell your mom not to give them to your guinea pigsSome examples are fruits, veggies, non-fatty non-processed meats, skim milk, whole grain breads and pastas, etcAlso, avoid desserts and have a sweet fruit salad instead! Also, only eat when you're hungry, not when it's meal time and stop eating when you're fullDish out a smaller portion and go back for seconds if you're still hungry instead of getting a lot of food and feeling like you have to finish it and therefore overeatingThere are loads of ways to improve your eating habits without going on a diet and I suggest you just google ways to improve your eating habits and health foodsDo some research and make sure your sources are credible (so don't try wikipedia.)Also, a little bit of exercise every day will work wondersMake goals for yourself and go a little harder each weekFor one week you can walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes each dayThe next week, you can run for 5 minutes, walk for 10, run for 5 and walk for 10Baby steps, but you can work your way up until you're running for 30 minutes, full onIt may not feel like much, but just getting 30 minutes of exercise every day will really improve your healthGet a membership at a local gym or recreation centerAnd don't forget to push yourself a bit more each time, or you'll never improve and it will be harder to lose weightI hope this helpsBest of luck!
