What makes a heavy duty version of a truck more then the standard version?

Answer:

The suspension will have heavier duty shocks, springs that can carry a heavier payload and the transmission will be updated with heavier clutches/plates (automatics) amongst other parts such as a transmission cooler for towing heavier weights. The axles will also be geared for pulling and the brakes will be larger to accommodate trying to stop heavier loads. It's not just the price.
Hello Jay . The Heavy-Duty truck has stronger suspension system , different transmission , different braking system, different axle , etc. in order to handle the heavy duties. If one is not going to be using truck for heavy duty work, standard version is the wise buy and costs less.
