I have a First Alert smoke detector (fairly new) and had a new Sunbeam battery in it for several months.Last night it started to beep and continued so I took out the battery but there was still a beep. Then I unplugged the wire and then the beeping stopped. There was no smoke so is it a battery problem or something else?

Snow tires help. Studded snows help when there's ice. Bigger tires will give LESS traction due to floatation effect. A winch is for recovery - something you don't want to do. An alternative would be some emergency tire chains. Not the regular hard to put on ones, but the quick emergency ones you can put on without lifting or even turning the wheel. There are a couple different ones now.
